Workshop Description
The workshop comprehensively introduces community-based social marketing and its application to foster sustainable, healthy, and safe behaviors. Participants will learn the five steps of community-based social marketing, which include:

  1. How to select which behaviors to target;
  2. How to identify the barriers to the adoption of these behaviors,
  3. How to develop strategies based on behavioral science knowledge to address identified barriers,
  4. How to conduct and evaluate a pilot, and
  5. How to move from a pilot to broadscale implementation.
Dr. McKenzie-Mohr can deliver this workshop for up to 120 participants.  Participants receive a certificate of completion and an electronic copy of the most recent edition of his acclaimed book, Fostering Sustainable Behavior

Consultation
Most agencies elect to combine the above workshop with a follow-up day of program consultations. This day consists of a series of 50-minute meetings in which Dr. McKenzie-Mohr meets with different project teams to discuss the application of community-based social marketing to their initiatives. These sessions provide participants with clear and actionable information as they embark on delivering their first community-based social marketing programs.
