Proud moment, how to never run out of content ideas & increasing course completion rates

Hi friends,

Do you ever let a win, even a major milestone, just pass you by?

Before you know it, you’re knee-deep in the next project without having paused and acknowledged that you’ve accomplished something.

I’m definitely guilty of this. And it happened again this week.

I had rewritten and redesigned the landing page for Building a Second Brain just in time for the launch.

As soon as the new site was up, I dove into the next emails for the launch email sequence and the training for the Alumni Mentors (it was an intense week).

There’s still heaps to do (and I’m looking forward to it), but writing this newsletter reminded me to reflect on how far I’ve come this week.

I’m proud of my work.

There…I said it!

The landing page went from this…

What have you accomplished this week? What are you proud of?

Let’s take a moment to savor this feeling!

Now, here’s what I want to share with you this week.

✍️ Copywriting

The First/Last/Best/Worst Idea Generator

We already know that stories are a great way to get your point across and keep your audience hooked. But coming up with great stories is the tricky part. Here’s a new way you can try. Cam ran this exercise yesterday with our Minimum Viable Video students and it was a hit.

🤓 Online Courses

Which online course is your favorite? I’d love to know!

The Commitment Form Trick: How to increase course completion rates

We’ve all done it – started a course and then left it halfway. How do you get more students to follow through? Bernardo Feitosa seems to have cracked the code.

Awesome courses, communities & offers for course creators

Here are the ones you should know about this week:

🔥 Course Creator Collective: C3 is the home for experts with a burning desire for impact. Andrew Barry, Marie Poulin, and Robbie Crabtree help you turn your online course into a thriving business. This is a year-long commitment to building your course. Check it out here.

🎤 Performative Speaking: We all speak every day. But only aew invest in learning how to do it well. I was part of Robbie’s first cohort last year and still use the principles I learned every day. Cohort 3 starts on November 8th. Check it out here.

📈 Productivity

The Two Minutes It Takes To Read This Will Improve Your Productivity Forever

Isn’t this a killer headline? Josh Spector delivers 6 simple ways to be more productive.

My favorite: Delete one item from your To-Do list every day.

“Not everything on your To-Do list should be there.

Remove the least important item from your list each day to free yourself up to spend time on more important things.

Decide that thing doesn’t actually need to be done…or at least doesn’t need to be done by you.”

Until next week,
