a year agoI'm currently knitting this, on to picking up for hood & pattern says pick up between markers along cast on edge, however at beginning when casting on it said nothing about markers? Where should the markers be? I got the correct guage and it is coming out larger than I wanted. My little dog is 33cm chest, as wool stretches, didn't want it much bigger than that.Helpful?Quality of Product, 3.0 out of 5Value of Product, 3.0 out of 5Response from Yarnspirations:a year agoConsumer CareThank you for reaching out about the Knit Hoodie Dog Coat. It seems like you have found a problem in the pattern in that there are no instructions about markers. However, if we look at the quantity of stitches you need to pick up, it is one fewer than the number of stiches cast on, so that can be your guide in determining where to begin picking up stitches. In replying to your question about fit, each of these sizes is designed with 5 cm of positive ease. That means though the medium is designed for a dog with a 33 cm chest measurement, the actual dog coat should be 38 cm if you indeed are knitting to the stated gauge of 11 sts and 14 rows = 4" [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st. I hope you find this information helpful. Please let us know if you need additional help. -

a year ago1 AnswerA: We cannot give specifics on how to adjust patterns but as a general guideline, when picking up stitches you want to make sure the new fabric doesn't ruffle pull. Usually, I pick up 3 stitches for every 4 rows when working perpendicular. I would suggest trying something and knitting a couple of rows. If that doesn't work, add or subtract stitches accordingly. I hope this helps you so you can make the doggie coat just how you want it.
a year agoHelpful?Q: Hood section says pick up sts between markers on cast on edge, no mention of markers on pattern, where should markers go? What is finished sizes for S & M as coming out larger, even though I have correct guage?
