about the role:

We are looking for a foundational Sr Manager of Fraud & Risk Operations on our New York team to build our team and processes from the ground up. nate is growing incredibly quickly, and we need someone ready to stay ahead of trends to keep nate secure from fraud. You will build and manage a team of Risk Operations Analysts, Underwriters, and other essential roles completely how you see fit. You will also have the opportunity to develop, define, and implement the overall fraud strategies and process for nate. You will use data and analytics to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and work cross functionally to build an industry leading team and infrastructure to effectively manage our risk. 

 

what you’ll do:

  • Oversee the development and execution of nate’s overall fraud prevention strategy
  • Develop user risk management policies and ensure proper implementation as part of purchase flow and user journeys
  • Continuously iterate on nate’s fraud prevention workflows, testing various thresholds and data points to create the most effective fraud prevention policies.
  • Work with data science to build an internal risk score system to supplement traditional means
  • Partner with product and engineering to build industry leading risk tools for improved operational efficiency
  • Provide structured and ongoing analysis of vulnerabilities, control weaknesses, and gaps to mitigate and remediate significant risk issues, trends, and loss events
  • Stay on top of emerging fraud and credit trends to innovate and improve nate’s decisioning systems and fraud prevention workflows
  • Build and manage a team of fraud ops analysts, underwriters, and other roles as you see fit 

 

about you:

  • 6+ years of experience in a fraud operations or risk management role
  • 3+ years of experience building risk operations teams
  • Exceptional ability to draw key insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • critical thinking skills to test and execute various solutions for complex problems

bonus points:

  • Experience within consumer facing industries, especially ecommerce or financial services
  • Experience building internal tools for review processes
  • Consumer Product experience to build specific user journeys and considering how to message decisions back to users based off workflow results
  • Familiarity with machine learning risk/fraud prevention systems
  • Experience with utilizing data reporting tools such as Looker
