Aittala Live to Regret

Aittala Wage a Grim "War of Attrition" With Decisive Doom (Video Premiere)

Today, we have the latest video from Aittala for you: the official visualizer for their song “War of Attrition” from their Live to Regret record released late last year.

The record is a pure slice of sludgy doom, and the lyrics go beyond trippy, stoner fair to tackle issues like toxic relationships, technology enslaving the human race, governmental oversight, and other topics relevant to 2023. “War of Attrition” is specifically about deciding whether to stay in a relationship that is less than healthy.

Band founder Eric Aittala says about Live to Regret and the struggles discussed on the album:

I wrote this album during a chaotic time in my life. Not only was it during the height of the lockdowns of the pandemic, but I was also in a very chaotic relationship. That chaos fueled my creativity both musically and lyrically. I was constantly walking on an uncertain tightrope, and I never knew (if) I was going to break. We hope the fans feel the same pleasure, pain, chaos, and passion that I was going through and infused into the songs when they listen to the album and singles.

In addition to the album released last year, Aitala are working on more material and plan to drop another album soon, so there is more heavy doom to come.

Their last album was produced by Eric Aittala and John E. Wooten IV, who also mixed the record along with mastering by Dave Harris at Studio B Mastering. Album artwork is by Mariano Pugliese.

The current lineup of Aittala consists of Eric Aittala on guitar, Gary ‘Zeus’ Smith on drums, and Ali Lugoon bass.

Aittala are also doing a short tour this March in Florida and Georgia, with more shows to be announced.
