Manager - Markets & Sustainability Reporting

As the Manager of Markets & Sustainability Reporting at CSR Europe, you will spearhead a dynamic team committed to educating and advising our members on their sustainability initiatives.

A big focus in 2024 will be on the planning and execution of sustainability reporting in line with CSRD requirements and ESRS standards.  This includes the set up and execution of Double Materiality Assessments and Stakeholder Dialogues.  

Your pivotal role will involve ensuring the seamless delivery of projects and services to our valued members and partners. This position presents a distinctive opportunity to drive strategic endeavours, cultivate innovation, and play a significant role in enhancing the overall success and influence of our members, clients, and CSR Europe such as in the realm of sustainability.

Main Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Strategy:

  • Define and implement the team’s strategic direction in alignment with the overall strategy and the needs of members and partners.

  • Develop projects and services in line with the strategy, supporting their delivery through content expertise and refined standardized delivery processes.

  • Provide ongoing support to team members, offering constructive feedback, and fostering their development and well-being.

  • Manage overall work allocation and ensure efficient workflow management.

People Development:

  • Offer guidance, support, and coaching to team members, fostering the successful delivery of projects with the aim of achieving the highest satisfaction rates among members and partners.

  • Provide relevant content, expertise, and frameworks to support the effectiveness of team members in their roles.

  • Cultivate an environment that encourages the team’s collective growth, exploration, and innovation to further enhance the value delivered to customers and stakeholders of CSR Europe.

  • Establish and maintain solid processes for quality assurance to ensure consistently high standards across project delivery.

Business Development:

  • Cultivate relationships with companies, stakeholders, and grant-giving institutions to broaden the team’s influence and enable the initiation of projects or the enhancement of existing ones.

  • Innovate and fortify the service portfolio, aligning it with the evolving sustainability agenda, the needs of our members, and the prevailing market opportunities.

  • Act as a representative for CSR Europe, showcasing our work and mission to external stakeholders.

Project Management and Quality Assurance:

  • Develop a deep understanding of members’ needs and insight into their strategic activities.

  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of ongoing and planned projects, aligning priorities with the company's strategic objectives, and ensure excellence by overseeing their progress and quality.

  • Provide clear guidelines on project results and expectations to Project Managers, offering support and coaching in task structuring.

  • Conduct comprehensive follow-ups on all active projects, evaluating outcomes, and proposing enhancements as necessary.

Main Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline, such as Sustainability, Finance, Environmental Science, or Business.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in corporate sustainability and ESG.

  • A first experience in leading and managing teams.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.

  • Passion and good understanding of sustainability reporting, sustainable finance, stakeholder engagement, and relevant sustainability-related EU regulations and policies (especially CSRD and ESRS).

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), additional other languages are an advantage.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and diverse environment.

Project Manager - Materials Team

CSR Europe is currently looking for a Project Manager to join its Sustainable Materials team in Brussels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading and organising activities for CSR Europe’s members, including online events, workshops, briefings, etc.

  • Coordinating and managing various sustainability-related projects (development, implementation, monitoring, governance and finance).

  • Developing and delivering tailored services for companies, such as gap analysis, reporting requirements, materiality assessment, and stakeholder dialogue.

  • Engaging with a wide group of external stakeholders on sustainability initiatives and developments.

  • Following relevant EU sustainability-related legislation, such as CS3D, Deforestation Regulation, Forced Labour Regulation, etc.

  • Preparing research papers and newsletter articles on various sustainability themes and trends.

  • Supporting the development and monitoring of CSR Europe’s strategic directions.

Main Requirements:

  • You have a master’s degree in a related discipline, such as Sustainability, Business, Supply Chain Management, Human Rights, Social Science.

  • You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant field.

  • Previous experience of working in a business context is an asset.

  • You are familiar with the EU decision-making process.

  • You have a good understanding of sustainability, in particular due diligence, supply chain management, stakeholder engagement and relevant sustainability-related EU regulations and policies (CS3D).

  • You are organised and can manage your time well.

  • You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills who can work in a fast-paced and diverse environment.

  • You are highly motivated and have a passion for sustainability topics.

  • You hold an EU work permit.

 SKILLS

  • Language skills: Fluency in English is essential (other languages desirable).

  • Research skills: ability to find relevant information and summarise the essence.

  • Analytical skills: ability to work with data on benchmarks and company assessments.

  • Communication skills (verbal and written): ability to provide information in a timely, clear and concise manner; and to express ideas effectively, adjusting style, tools and mode to the needs of others.

  • Presentation skills: Ability to speak and present concepts publicly.

  • Multi-tasking skills: Capacity to rapidly respond to a variety of diverse tasks.
