💡 It's been really invigorating to meet with so many funders, DFIs, investors, funds, and companies who've joined our series of webinars co-hosted with British International Investment, 2X Global, and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office over the past month. We are so encouraged by how much interest and engagement there has been in the evaluation's main findings and recommendations for how investments in gender-diverse ownership and leadership can support greater development outcomes for women. As we wrap up this impactful partnership with BII, we look forward to continue to collaborate with like-minded partners in the 2X ecosystem to further the evidence base on what works in gender lens investing. In case you missed it, check out our blog (https://lnkd.in/giWgi9iP) sharing key insights as well as the final report (https://lnkd.in/gxX6S8-v) Katrina Kwan, Clément Bisserbe, Barbara Kong, Saira Meyler, Kate Griffith, Toby Bateman, Jessica Espinoza, Sana Kapadia, Katie Turner

As we bid farewell to Sexual Assault Awareness Month, let's keep the dialogue alive year-round. Discussions about gender-based inequalities often importantly centre on the challenges faced by women and gender minorities. At the same time, it's important to recognize the integral role that men play in advancing gender equality, and how their involvement can benefit not only women, but all people, including men. Check out our blog to read 4 reasons why men should care about gender equality and how their involvement can benefit everyone. https://lnkd.in/gNQgNDQF #GenderEquality #Inclusion #Diversity #MenForEquality #SAAM 🌍 💼 👨👩👧👦

🌟 The International Women’s Day theme is not just for March. We’re always reflecting on how to accelerate progress by investing in women! 💼💪 Our latest blog explores the impact of gender-diverse ownership and leadership on outcomes for women employees, customers, and suppliers. Kore Global partnered with British International Investment to evaluate investments meeting the Entrepreneurship and/or Leadership 2X Criteria and determine whether, how, and why they can bring about impact for women. Read the blog here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/giWgi9iP Sneak peek at our key takeaways: 🔍 Gender-diverse ownership & leadership can foster gender-diverse and inclusive work environments. 📊 Funds with gender-diverse ownership &/or leadership may be more intentional in their efforts to drive gender-related impact through their portfolio of investments. 💡 Financial institutions with gender-diverse ownership &/or leadership have the potential to support development outcomes for women through gender-smart financial services. 💼 Investments meeting both the 2X Entrepreneurship AND Leadership Criteria may be a strong predictor of gender-related outcomes. 💡Five factors are linked to strong gender-related performance: senior-level buy-in, gender capacity and resources, a strong and explicit focus on gender equality, internal accountability mechanisms, and relationship with investees. Do these resonate with your experiences and observations? Are there other factors that should be taken into account? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
As an impact-led and inclusive investor, promoting gender balance and diversity at all levels of business operations is a core part of our investing approach. In our latest evaluation, we explore how companies and funds with female owners and leaders support positive outcomes for women as employees, suppliers and consumers. The report covers the gender-focussed investments we made between 2019 and 2021 which qualify for the 2X Challenge. In the clip below, Clément Bisserbe and Katrina Kwan outline three of the report’s key findings: 💡 Our investees with female owners or leaders are implementing a range of business practices that support gender-diverse and inclusive workplaces. 💡 Fund managers with gender-diverse owners or leaders show commitment to integrating gender into their investing strategies. 💡 Investee-specific factors (e.g. senior level buy-in) are more robust predictors of whether investees adopt gender-smart practices, rather than contextual factors such as geography. These findings and recommendations will help us to refine how we assess, support and track the impact of our gender-lens investments.
