JD Vance shut down CBS reporter Margaret Brennan in his first interview since becoming America's next Vice President. During the interview, which aired Sunday morning, Brennan questioned Vance about several of US President Donald Trump’s executive orders. One topic discussed was the new administration’s decision to suspend the Afghan Refugee Program. VP Vance strongly defended the administration to suspend the program, citing a plot for an election-day terrorist attack. “I don't really care, Margaret. I don't want that person in my country and I think most Americans agree with me,” Vance said. On Trump’s inauguration day, he signed an executive order that effectively stranded refugees who had flights booked to America. The program sees Afghan refugees undergo an 18-24 vetting process that involves interviews, security vetting and medical screenings. The order paused all refugee processing, leaving thousands of vetted Afghans from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Qatar stranded.
