About us

Beyond Capital Fund is an evergreen impact investment fund that invests in for-profit, early-stage companies throughout East Africa and India. The fund invests in businesses that are focused on greater access to health care, sanitation, clean energy, agriculture & food security, and financial inclusion, which can increase the quality of life for consumers living at the bottom of the economic pyramid. Though the fund seeks market-rate financial returns, Beyond Capital is structured as a nonprofit, which permits the organization to emphasize fidelity to its social mission alongside its financial mandate. Since its founding in 2009, Beyond Capital has reached a growing 8 million people, including 5.8 million women, living in underserved communities.

  • Congratulations to Jagdeep Gambhir and the entire Karma Primary Healthcare team for this major achievement: raising more than $1M in the company's Series A funding round. This newly acquired capital will enhance Karma’s technological infrastructure and help to expand its growing team, as the company evolves its patient-centric care model, which is designed to improve healthcare access for rural patients in India. This milestone comes as Karma Primary Healthcare celebrates its 10th anniversary — it's been an honor watching the company expand and continue to innovate. We can't wait to see what comes next in Karma's mission to provide affordable, equitable, and reliable healthcare services to under-served populations. #healthtech #healthcareinnovation #investinindia
