Policy and Campaigns Assistant (Paid Internship)

We are seeking a Policy and Campaigns assistant to join our team. This is a six-month paid internship with the possibility of extension and is a fantastic opportunity to gain skills in public affairs, public-facing campaigning, policy analysis and influencing. You will work closely with the Policy and Strategic Communications Manager to identify opportunities to grow our political profile and assist with the delivering of our flagship campaigns. 

You will be joining our team at an exciting time for our organisation as we are setting ourselves apart from other organisations by focusing on systemic change and colonial roots of migration whilst gaining recognition at a rapid rate. We are a small team but we punch above our weight. Our intersectional campaigns are leading the way in calling for real, meaningful change at a time where hostile Government policies and media coverage are making life harder for refugee and migrant communities in the UK. 

The candidate does not have to have previous experience of the charity sector or working in policy and campaigns; this is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and skills. We’re looking for an individual with the ability to multitask and work under pressure and to tight deadlines. We’re also interested in someone who brings ideas and energy to the team. 

We’re seeking candidates with a: 

• Commitment to upholding the rights of all migrants. 

• Real vision as to how this can be done in the current political, social and economic climate of the UK. 

• Readiness to commit to MRN's vision and values, including taking anti-oppression and anti-racist approaches. 

The salary will be £23,000 pro-rata.
