OPEN ROLE: visual designer

Update: This role has been filled, thank you so much for applying!

We’re looking for a visual designer with basic website design & development skills to help us bring Design for Women—our women-centric methodology, framework and toolkit—to life!

This is a contract, part-time, remote role.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION

Design for Women is a methodology, toolkit, and framework developed by engaging in several hours of research with gender and feminist practitioners around the world. The methodology equips designers and decision-makers to actively and intentionally design for women. The framework and toolkit provide tactile ways for designers to get started with a “women-centric” design process and approach. Design for Women is created by Unconform.

Project Scope:

  • Create overall visual identity

  • Create relevant visuals / illustration to support the methodology (in the form of frameworks, diagrams, canvases etc).

  • Design content and materials (including project report/PDF, worksheet templates, one-pagers etc) to ensure usability of the methodology

  • Design (and/or develop) website and/or online home for the project

  • Contribute to cleaner information architecture to ensure the essence of the methodology comes through

  • See example projects below

Design Intentions:
It is most important to us that the design of the methodology makes it usable. The design thinking sphere is saturated with toolkits, and we want to ensure that the voices from our research are able to make an impact on the folks that engage with the methodology.

Collaboration:
We are a small team and are looking for a designer who will work alongside us as a co-creator and partner on this work. We are not interested in a conventional “client-agency” relationship.

Timeline & Commitment:
Fall & Winter 2022 / Delivery by EOY 2022 / Project Launch early 2023
This is a contract, part-time, remote role

Budget Range:
