Seattle will host four World Cup 2026 group stage games, including one featuring the United States on June 19, it was announced on Sunday. The USMNT will play its first and last group stage games in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, allowing them to remain on the West Coast.
Seattle will also host Round of 32 and 16 matches, giving Lumen Field six matches. The Seattle group stage matches will be played on June 15, 19, 24 and 26. The Round of 32 match will be on July 2 and the Round of 16 match will be on July 6.

“I’ve stated previously that bringing the FIFA World Cup to Seattle is perhaps the biggest moment in the soccer history of our region, but today’s news makes that feeling all the more real,” Sounders majority owner Adrian Hanauer said in a team release. “To be hosting FIFA World Cup matches in and of itself is a momentous thing, but to see the United States Men’s National Team playing in the Emerald City on the world’s biggest stage is an honor.
“As a born-and-bred Seattleite, today’s news is remarkable and has the potential to take our sport to new heights.”
There will actually be 13 total matches in the Pacific Northwest, with Vancouver getting five group-stage games as well as Round of 32 and 16 matches. Two of those matches will be played on the same day, likely meaning they'll be hosting teams from the same group, which means there will be 11 total matchdays in the PNW.
The World Cup final will be played at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, with Miami hosting the third-place match.
