If you’re like me, you spend a big chunk of your day working in Google Chrome.
And for years, I thought I was using Chrome in the best way I could.
Until this January at a team retreat.
I looked over my colleague’s shoulder and noticed that their whole browser setup magically changed with one click. They pulled up the right websites and tools in milliseconds.
Here’s what I’ve been missing the whole time (and chances are you have, too):
You can set up different profiles in Chrome, each with its own bookmarks, extensions, sites you’re logged in to, and even colors.
All you have to do is click the icon on the top right and sign in with a Google account to create a new customizable profile.
Now, I have two Chrome profiles set up: One for work and one for private stuff.
I’ve customized each with a bookmark bar, allowing immediate access to the sites I use the most and the extensions I need.
I also picked different theme colors to easily distinguish between the two profiles.
The best thing is that switching between them is instantaneous with a keyboard shortcut: Just hit command + ~ (on Mac).
Try it out, and let me know how this works for you! It was a game-changer for me.
