Launching, running, and scaling an online course involves a ton of moving pieces.
You're only human and can't do everything by yourself for long.
So eventually, the question arises: Who should I hire to support me?
It depends on your strengths and weaknesses.
You see, a course business needs three main functions:
  • Marketing
  • Teaching
  • Operations
Given that you’re the creator of the course, teaching is likely your strength. You probably don’t want to outsource that.
So, of the other two functions, which do you feel least equipped to handle?
If it’s operations, look for a course manager to handle the logistics and help create a learning environment that makes students feel safe and supported.
If it’s marketing, look for a copywriter, marketing manager, or social media specialist to help you get the word out and optimize your funnel.
You might be able to find a multi-passionate person who can do both (I have in the past). Virtual Assistants can often take on flexible roles that cover many bases.
Now, the next question is: Where do you find help?
