A *very gentle* reminder to all that "remote job" does not mean remote within a specific country. Remote jobs should be accessible to everyone EVERYWHERE, regardless of their location worldwide. It's concerning that many roles seemingly open to all are, in reality, restricted to the USA, potentially misleading qualified international candidates seeking remote positions. I invite those in the #nonprofit and #philanthropy sectors to continue decolonizing our practices, including in recruiting - from being transparent about job geographical limitations to reevaluating why these roles predominantly exist in the global north when qualified individuals are living and working in all corners of the world. Let's take small steps toward more inclusive and fair #recruiting practices. 🙌

Last week I had the pleasure the teach at Liverpool John Moores University as a guest lecturer. My very bright friend, Phd Marcelle Trote Martins, is teaching a module on Popular Culture and Politics and invited me to speak about how culture is an important tool to change the narrative around the climate crisis and lead to social change. The two of us have been great friends since day 1 of our Bachelor's degree and have had far too many deep conversations about pop culture and politics. 12 years later, we got together to share a bit about what we have learned as both practitioner and academic. Hope this is a micro step in planting the seeds for the new generations to continue having such conversations decades from now. Thanks for the opportunity!
