On the Move’s Principal Physical Therapist and Founder

Alyssa earned Masters and Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy from the UCSF/SFSU physical therapy program. She holds an American Physical Therapy Association Board Certification as a Sports Clinical Specialist and International Olympic Committee Sports Physiotherapy Diploma. Her pilates teacher training is from the renowned Polestar Pilates training institute and she is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher.

Alyssa treats a variety of patients but her areas of special interest include pediatric sports and dance rehabilitation. She also loves working with patients who haven’t had previous success with physical therapy and strives to give these patients a positive experience with physical therapy. Her treatment style is a combination of manual therapy and pilates-based therapeutic exercise. She uses analysis of movement to guide manual therapy and exercise prescription. She views physical therapy as a collaborative process between the therapist, the patient, and the rest of the patient’s movement team including physicians, coaches, and family. Alyssa is an educator at heart, and always empowers her patients with the knowledge of how to prevent future injuries through educated awareness of movement patterns. Some of her favorite physical therapy tools include Mulligan mobilization belts, Rock Tape, myofascial decompression cups, slow motion video analysis, and pilates equipment.

Alyssa was a competitive gymnast as a young child and has been in love with performing, observing, and teaching body movement ever since. She grew up in the Bay Area attending elementary and high school in San Jose and graduating from UC Berkeley with a BA in American Studies.

Alyssa opened On the Move in 2013 and she is the co-founder of gymSAFE, a non-profit organization dedicated to decreasing gymnastics related injuries.

In addition to treatment at the clinic, she see patients at dance studios, backstage, and at their sport training facilities.

Her personal favorite modes of exercise are dance and snowboarding. She loves to travel and she is the mother of two active girls.

Ellese received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Denver where she competed as a NCAA Division I collegiate gymnast. Ellese earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California graduate physical therapy program. She advanced her expertise by obtaining her certification in Neurologic Physical Therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).

Ellese specializes in treating individuals with movement dysfunction due to neurologic disease or injury. She prioritizes evidence-based exercise interventions that promote neuroplasticity. She recognizes the importance of the mind-body connection in influencing movement.

Her interest to work at On the Move was sparked by her dedication and love for the sport of gymnastics. As a former collegiate gymnast, she understands the rigorous demands placed on a student athlete both physically and mentally.

She is passionate about optimizing quality of life and function for all demographics ranging from young athletes to the elderly population.

She recognizes the value of wellness and exercise for all abilities and enjoys being able to help others reach goals that are meaningful to them.

Ellese grew up in Aptos, California and now lives with her husband in the Bay Area.

She enjoys spending time in nature, exercising outdoors, sewing, and painting. She values time spent with family and surrounding herself with those that she loves.

A Bay Area native, Stacey attended Cornell University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Technology before earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine.

As a level 10 Junior Olympic and NCAA gymnast, Stacey understands the demands of competitive athletes. Her approach to treating athletes includes helping them recover and attain their peak performance while still allowing them to keep doing what they love. She uses a combination of manual therapy techniques that includes soft tissue and joint mobilizations as well as strengthening and neuromuscular re-education exercises during her treatment sessions.

Stacey has clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, inpatient, and pediatric physical therapy. She specializes in pediatrics working with a variety of children from those who require post injury rehabilitation to those who have underlying neurological diagnoses. She is dedicated to helping all clients reach their maximum potential while making physical therapy fun.

Eva (NengQing) Wang, Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT), Certified Personal Trainer (ACE-CPT), Eva received her Bachelor’s of Arts in History from Jiamusi University in China. Eva underwent hallux valgus surgery ten years ago. However, without proper rehabilitation and exercise, she experienced persistent discomfort in her right leg for the next five years. Discovering Pilates was a turning point—it not only alleviated her pain but also ignited a passion for movement and healing. Inspired by her own transformation, she pursued a path to becoming a Pilates teacher, dedicated to helping others enhance their physical and mental well-being.

Determined to deepen her knowledge and recover fully, Eva joined BodyConcept Pilates in Shanghai in 2019. Over the next three years, she balanced managing international online courses with her own intensive Pilates practice. She had the privilege of learning from renowned Pilates and movement experts, completing Pilates comprehensive training. In 2022, she transitioned into the instructor department, accumulating over 1,200 teaching hours. Her commitment and expertise culminated in earning her National Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) certification in October 2024.

Eva is deeply passionate about teaching and finds joy in sharing health, movement, and positive energy with others. Her dedication to this calling remains unwavering.

Keiko earned her Masters and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degrees from UCSF/SFSU’s Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. She is Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strengthening and Conditioning Association. She is also certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Myofascial Decompression (MFDc). In addition to being a Physical Therapist, she is also a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher and completed her training through Polestar Pilates. Keiko treats a variety of patients with orthopedic, sports, and vestibular/vertigo problems/dysfunctions. She integrates her knowledge in these areas of specialty with manual therapy, specific corrective exercises, and Pilates when appropriate to develop a comprehensive treatment program with her patients. She is highly motivated by helping her patients get back to the things they love to do injury-free.

Keiko grew up in the South Bay participating in a variety of sports including gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, cross country, and track & field. In high school, Keiko developed a sports injury between her cross country and soccer seasons, which affected her running and performance as an athlete. It was her physical therapy experiences as a rehabilitating athlete that contributed to her interest in becoming a Physical Therapist.

Nicole graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Studies from Southern Oregon University. She then earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland. For her doctoral capstone, she developed a community-based research project focused on strength training and injury prevention in youth hip-hop dancers with Destiny Arts Youth Performance Company in Oakland. Nicole is also a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher and integrates Pilates into her practice.

She has over ten years of experience teaching dance and movement to children, adolescents, and adults of all skill levels. She trained and worked as a professional ballet dancer with companies such as The Kirov Ballet in D.C, The Harid Conservatory, Boston Ballet, The Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Oakland Ballet, as well as being a freelance dancer in the Bay Area. She also worked with ODC Dance in San Francisco for several years, teaching ballet and helping manage the Youth & Teen Program. Training intensively throughout her youth, she understands the physical and mental dedication needed for practice and performance.

She pursued a career in physical therapy once she realized she could combine her art with science and help treat people through movement and physical therapy.

Movement is life! She loves to move and watch others move and is passionate about helping patients reach their movement goals. She is also passionate about injury prevention, not only to help promote the longevity of careers and recreation for young dancers/athletes but for everyone. As a physical therapist, she believes that her role is not only when people are injured or having problems but also for education and prevention.

Veronica received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from The Technological Institute of Monterrey, Estado de Mexico Campus where she competed on the Tennis team in both singles and doubles. While working in the Marketing fields for IBM, Disney and other Global Companies she competed in Triathlons and Marathons in her free time.

After relocating to the United States, Veronica continued in the marketing field for a few years before taking on an administrative position at Redwood Shores Elementary School. Her common interests in education and Pilates drove her to enroll to become a Certified Pilates Instructor, training at On The Move.

Between her role as a mother of two competitive dancers and an active tennis player, she understands the importance of staying healthy and how Pilates can play a role in preventing injury and improving performance for athletes and non-athletes alike. She is passionate about helping people of all ages perform at their best.

Veronica lives in Belmont with her husband, two daughters and her dog, Zoe. She enjoys spending her time playing tennis, hiking, running, doing Pilates and watching her daughters doing what they love, dancing.
