Instagram Stories is glitching for many users

Stop! Showing! Me! The! Same! Post!

If your Instagram Stories are repeating themselves, you're not alone. We're all annoyed at the newest bug that's disrupting our doom scrolling.

When someone you follow uploads a new post to their Instagram Stories, it will populate at the top of your app with a red or green circle, as usual. But, instead of showing you the newest addition, a bug on Instagram has been showing users every post from the beginning of their 24-hour Instagram Story cycle. It is very annoying, and some Reddit users have complained that the problem has been persisting since Monday. That's nearly 72 hours of frustration.

Instagram did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Mashable, but it told The Verge that the company is "aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram Stories" and that it is "working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible." Verge employees, and users on Twitter, found that the solution is simple: Update your app, and the Stories will start working as they always have. The newest version of the app is 239.1, an update released on Wednesday morning says this version "contains bug fixes and performance improvements."

I updated the app and it seems to be working just fine for me now. Thank God — I can finally avoid my work in peace.
