The Policy Framework for Strengthening Civil Society from Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken is internationally recognized as one of the most progressive of its kind. At the same time experience concludes that there is a mismatch between the ambitions in the progressive policy framework and the actual practice and implementation in reality. Partos' latest publication, "Recommendations for a More Power-Balanced and Effective Policy Framework Strengthening Civil Society," presents essential recommendations for crafting a more inclusive policy framework for the future. It focuses on four themes: agenda setting, risk sharing, accountability, PMEL. This comprehensive policy paper emerges from an extensive multi-year consultation, engaging organizations and individuals globally. Although the focus of this publication is on the Dutch policy framework, the insights and recommendations are universally applicable, offering valuable guidance to other bilateral donors seeking to make their policy frameworks more equitable. Leverage this publication as a strategic asset in your advocacy efforts, engaging partners and donors in discussions and systemic change. Great opportunity to learn more about the power of storytelling for social change

Transfer news. My partner, Birgit Bosch, and I are setting out to fulfill our dream. Beginning April 1st, we embark on an adventure of a lifetime - a year-long (or longer) journey through Europe in our camper, accompanied by our faithful dog 🚐🌍. This decision stems from our long-cherished desire to experience life differently - with more freedom, nature, music, new encounters, and adventure. Waking up in a new place every morning. Organizing work around our lives instead of living our lives around work. And looking at life from a new perspective, critically questioning the (broken) systems we are part of, and redefining our role within them. This journey also marks a professional transition. As of April 1st, I will be leaving Partos, where I had the pleasure of working as the manager of the Partos Innovation Hub, building the Dutch innovation ecosystem for development cooperation over the past years together with my great team Sonja Bleeker Gigi Pasco Ong-Alok Frédérique Been💡. I look back with pride on how we developed a breeding ground for inspiration, innovation, and transformation that helps the sector become more inclusive, adaptive, resilient, and, above all, impactful. The Hub has played a crucial role in bringing together diverse stakeholders from different sectors, including NGOs, governments, the social entrepreneurship, and academia. In these uncertain times, we have created a strong foundation for a resilient Dutch development cooperation. From April, I will continue my journey to stimulate innovation for greater impact through Disrupt Development, the social enterprise I founded. As a catalyst for the growing Disrupt Development movement moving beyond 50 disruptors, and as a consultant for short-term projects, I look forward to joining forces 🌱🤝 Do you have an exciting project or want to collaborate? 15 years ago, I embarked on a journey to study Business Administration at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. Driven by an idealistic vision of economics and entrepreneurship serving the greater good. However, the harsh realities of the economic paradigm soon shattered my illusions. The relentless pursuit of exponential growth, resource extraction, shareholder value, and profit maximization clashed with my core values of sustainability and social responsibility. So, I made the decision to pivot, and as a graduate in political & social science I pursued a career in international cooperation—a sector deeply committed to 'impact maximization'. Fast forward to yesterday, 15 years later, I found myself back at the University of Amsterdam - Amsterdam Business School. This time, it was to deliver a guest lecture on post-growth entrepreneurship created by post-growth guru Melanie Rieback. I shared insights forged from a range of experiences: escaping a war-torn country, altering my educational course away from Business Administration, to navigating the complex realities of international cooperation. These experiences came together to give rise to Disrupt Development — a post-growth enterprise that, by design, seeks to dismantle the perverse incentives of our economic system and traditional enterprises.
