the SBS Community

In committing to Black liberation, community is the key binding ingredient that can’t be missed. We thrive in community. Actively engaging in and building community is an act of reclamation. Especially because, living in a society that teaches us to adopt individualism, which disconnects us from ourselves and others —our humanity. In building community, we can work to repair the harm that is done by believing that we’re alone or that we must handle and do things on our own. It helps us to heal, to grow and to do life feeling more seen, supported and connected.
