Yo! I’m Vincent Russell Van Patten. My friends call me Vinny. I’m a writer, creator, and traveler, based in Japan.

Travel, culture, adventure, personal-growth, literature, history and philosophy are some of the topics I write about. I also write poetry and short stories — doing so soothes the soul. I publish my work here on my website and on Medium.

The Dare to Dream Podcast is where my co-host and I inspire listeners to embark on the adventure of their lives. We draw wisdom from weekly guests who exemplify what is possible when you have the courage to live a life that is truly yours.

My debut book:  Arrows of Youth: A Young Man’s Inspiring Journey to Find What Lights His Soul on Fire, is a story of adventure, an ode to life. Guided by ancient wisdom, timeless stories and contemporary discussion, this book encompasses my quest to never stop asking: Why are we really here?
