There’s no measuring the level of focus and dedication it takes to become the most decorated team in international soccer history, but most of the time, the players on the U.S. Women’s World Cup team make it look easy. However, behind the scenes, the story is far more complex — and each player has something different at stake. In Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team sports series, audiences get a close look at the team’s road to the FIFA World Cup as the most decorated team in soccer history — and also explores the dramatic, heartbreaking conclusion. The all-access doc will explore the personal and team journeys, including issues regarding injury, criticism, legacies, and equal pay.
Directed by two-time Emmy award winner and TIME Studios executive producer Rebecca Gitlitz, executive produced by Emmy award winner Connor Schell (The Last Dance, O.J.: Made in America, 30 for 30) with Mike Beck, Alexa Conway, Libby Geist, Rebecca Gitlitz, Ian Orefice, Jamie Patricof, and Jessica Sherif, and produced by Marie Margolius and Nick Eisenberg, Under Pressure is a co-production with Time Studios and Words + Pictures in association with FIFA.
