Conceptually, “Fisher King” is the opening throw of the gauntlet by the Dragon Reborn, the Champion of the Light in his prime. Unsettling, bombastic and unrelenting, this track is a musical and lyrical contest of wills between the archetype of the “Chosen One”, and his lethal, yet flawed opponent standing in the way of his unrelenting march. Going back to the band’s musical roots, “Fisher King” was written in its original form over 10 years ago, but upgraded and modernized to fit the current Red Cain sound. Musically, the track takes the death metal influences from “Kindred: Act II” even further, featuring a huge growl-centric chorus, a variety of downtuned, sludgy riffs, and gripping vocal hooks and melodies - heralding an evolution in the band’s sound and concept. ━━━━━━━━ LYRICS: Come, let me show you the Light The way of the Leaf And its final tortured cry And saidin shall burn through your eyes And all hope gives way, For there’s no compromise Fires of heaven I have endured Feeding the Light left me so pure I am uninspired, I wear no mask I see only fire, I touch only dust Whatever you build, you destroy!
