Founders - fall fundraising is officially here. Use our data on valuations and round sizes to help you negotiate with investors. This is the freshest possible fundraising data, hand-picked just this morning from across the Carta platform. Locally sourced from 38,000 of the finest cap tables in the US. Primary rounds only, raised in the last 60 days. The pre-seed figures are for companies using post-money SAFEs and raising less than $1 million total (to remove the influence of "seed on SAFEs" rounds). To the data! 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱 • $7.5M median valuation cap with $466K raised • Drifted slightly downward over the last 60 days, but still the most active part of the venture market 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱 • $3.1M raised on a $14.4M pre-money valuation • Implied valuation increase of 1.9x from pre-seed • Median valuations are now close to 2021 levels, though number of rounds is far below peak 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗔 • $10.7M raised on a $39M valuation • 2.7x jump from Seed valuation • Basically flat from Q2 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗕 • $20.5M on $85M valuation • 2.2x jump from Series A • Actually a little decline from Q2 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗖 • $31.5M raised on $255M pre-money val • Not a lot of rounds happening here, still a very constricted market If you want more specific info for your industry or location, shout it out in the comments and I'll try to answer :) Here's to a fall full of fundraising! #cartadata #startups #valuations #Seed #SeriesA #founders

Looks like the days of million-dollar Pre-Seed rounds are generally over. Since everyone is asking for clarification on things, I'd love to know how SF-deals skewed the Pre-Seed, Seed and A-stage numbers (i.e. money and valuation for each of the following three cohorts: SF firms investing in SF startups, SF firms investing in non-SF startups and non-SF firms investing in non-SF startups). That's a huge ask, so I'll just say thanks for the info you already shared :)

Thx for the summary Peter. Can you provide any further insight regarding Med Tech?

How about DTC Consumer Health? What’s the difference between US & Europe right now?

Do you know how the spread in the valuations compare to historical data? I would think it's less spread out than the 2021 madness but more than pre-2020. Having only 50% of B's between $61M and $159M or C's between $93M and $487M shows that the ranges are immense.
