3 exciting course launches, 4 stages of copywriting & 7 counter-intuitive lessons

Hi friends,

It’s so good to be back in your inbox after a 3-week break!

My vacation took me to Italy, Montenegro (hidden gem!), and Croatia. Including a few pics in the PS below.

Feeling recharged, I’m ready to crush the last 4 months of this year.

And exciting things are happening…

  • I’m currently mentoring upcoming writers in Write of Passage 7
  • We’re launching the third cohort of Minimum Viable Video
  • And I’ll be supporting course creators as the official Copywriting Coach in the Keystone Accelerator

Now, here’s what I want to share with you this week.

✍️ Copywriting

I keep an “Anti-Swipe File” with examples of landing pages and emails that I don’t want to emulate.

The 4 stages of copywriting

Copywriting always follows 4 stages. Here’s what to do in each of them and resources to help you get started.

🤓 Online Courses

As I was part of ODCC, it was great to read how everything went down from Andrew’s perspective.

Why your online course needs assignments and how to do them right

Assignments (aka homework) were the part of school many of us dreaded. So why should we bring the concept back into our online courses? There’s a good reason for it… plus 4 guidelines to help you do assignments right.

Useful courses for course creators starting soon

I want to highlight a few fellow course creators who are launching courses right now that can help you create a better course and transformational learning experience yourself.

  • Tatiana helps you build a thriving community in her course Build a Community Business
  • Gwyn helps you become an exceptional facilitator who creates instantly engaging online sessions in her course Breakthrough Facilitation
  • And Cam helps you become more comfortable, confident, and competent on camera in our course Minimum Viable Video. Get our short email series on how videos could change your life here.

📈 Productivity

Gotta try this out!

7 counterintuitive lessons I’ve learned about creating online and building an audience

⛓Constraints are a blessing, not a curse

💡You don’t run out of ideas by putting them all out there

🔁 You have to repeat yourself a lot

🤯 Sharing your failures in public won’t make you look like a failure

✍️ Write more to write less

🚢 Publish before something is “done”

👀 More people watch what you’re doing than you expect

PS: I’ve become a big fan of Montenegro.

Crystal clear water, friendly people, fresh (and affordable) seafood, no crowds…perfect ingredients for a summer holiday.

If you ever want to visit, let me know, and I’ll be happy to share some tips.

Here are a few of my favorite pics from the trip…
