The Organizations in Solidarity (OiS) mission is to combat racist beliefs, attitudes, and acts of discrimination, and integrate diversity within all levels of our organizations and as individuals in the peace and security, foreign policy and national security fields. We are evaluating the current state of affairs, educating, elevating and supporting diverse voices and perspectives and the individuals who hold them, giving due recognition and credit to achievements of Black people and people of color, and creating a world where all people are treated fairly, equitably, and with respect.

WCAPS is seeking an experienced Research/Project Consultant to help assist and advise the Organizations in Solidarity Leadership Diversity Working Group with research and project tasks. In this role, you will be required to plan and implement research for the working group, as well as determine and implement best research methodologies and design. The final products will benefit the entire OiS as well as WCAPS.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop research for the OiS Leadership Diversity working group (WG) that will culminate with the development of a Board Training Manual
  • Assist the WG with planning and execution of board diversity webinars
  • Support and coordinate with OiS WG CoChairs for specific instructions pertaining to research projects and programming ideas
  • Select appropriate data for literary sources, research and project purposes
  • Analyze and organize gathered information
  • Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained
  • Ensure research deadlines are met
  • Identify key areas of concern and areas of improvement in research design and implementation
  • Discuss findings with the WG Co-Chairs, and OiS HQ leadership
  • Draft and finalize research reports for WG projects and presentations.
  • Present work in written and verbal form to different audiences and stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors with 2 years work experience or Masters degree preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion in leadership
  • Support and uphold WCAPS vision, mission, and goals
  • Strong proficiency in research design, research report writing, and source analysis
  • Demonstrate research skills such as data analytics, statistics, or survey design
  • Impeccable writing and organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of research procedures and best practices
  • Team-work and communication skills
  • Knowledge of research methods for gathering both quantitative and qualitative data
