Random Acts of Crazy is a standalone, full-length novel (300+ pages, 85,000 words) featuring Darla Jo(sephine) Jennings, the 22-year-old niece of Josie Mendham from the Her Two Billionaires series. Bizarre encounter by a young woman living in abject poverty, painful circumstances and few opportunities to escape - except via her wounded sense of humor, realism and hope. She meets a member of her favorite guys band who's under the influence of a large amount of peyote stolen from his best friend, also a member of the band. (I told you it was a bizarre encounter. Now you need to read the book I was unable to put down...)

This book is an absolute joy to read! I couldn't put it down and I didn't want it to end! Darla is one kick-a$$ chick! We all need someone like her in our lives. Watching the relationship between Darla and Trevor unfold and getting to hear it from each character's point of view, kept me absolutely riveted! I was also completely enthralled with Joe and his own personal journey. You really feel for all of these characters and become invested in the story very early on. This is a testament to Julia Kent's seemingly innate gift of being able to bring her characters to life and draw you into the story almost from word one. You will find that to be true in all of her books. It's certainly true in this one. She manages to make these characters, seemingly polar opposites, completely relatable not only to each other but to the reader. You find yourself really rooting for things to work out for these characters against all odds. This book will take you on a hilariously sexy journey that you will enjoy from start to finish!

I kind of don’t even know what to say about this book. I kind of loved it, but at the same time, there were some things that left me scratching my head. Let me start by saying that I adore what Julia Kent does. She has a flair for romantic comedy that leaves me gasping for breath and my sides aching. This book is super funny. There’s lots of laughs and scorching hot intimate encounters in this story. It’s somewhere in the connections between our three lead characters that I got a little lost. It’s easy to see Darla’s love for her family and the guilt and obligations she feels. The brotherhood between Trevor and Joe is quite clearly laid out. I just didn’t totally feel the chemistry between Darla, Trevor, and Joe. I know it’s there. I’ve seen it in later books of the series, but here it fell a little flat.
