In light of World Menstrual Hygiene Day on the 28th of May 2022, periodic.nl is teaming up with HeForShe x University of Amsterdam to organize the first ever MenstruWeek. From the 23rd to the 28th of May, it will collaborate with Neighborhood Feminists, Hi Sally, and Amnesty International Studentgroup Amsterdam in hosting events and workshops to create awareness surrounding period poverty and take action to provide period products in public spaces. The events will take place primarily at the University of Amsterdam.

During the opening ceremony on May 23, 18:30 we will have a panel discussion around Period Poverty in the Netherlands with amazing speakers: Sara, from Hi Sally; Nicole, from The Neighborhood Feminists and our very own, Esther, from Periodic.nl.

Over the course of a lifetime, people who menstruate spend thousands of euros on period products. If someone cannot afford them, they are at risk of several health issues due to poor menstrual hygiene. Two organizations are already providing period products to those in need in the Netherlands.
