Country Lead for Argentina

The Country Lead for Argentina will be responsible for planning and delivering public affairs in support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ objectives in the region. The role is of high importance in ensuring the seamless translation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ strategic goals into impactful activity. With a keen eye for analysing results, you will continually adapt strategies to optimize public affairs and communication outcomes in the dynamic context

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Public diplomacy, campaigns, and media engagement

    • Planning and delivery of events and delegations

    • Overseeing local delivery of campaigns and supporting the delivery of global campaigns in Argentina

    • Supporting embassy priorities around media engagement

    • Evaluating the effectiveness of project activity

  • Collaboration

    • Collaborating closely with senior leadership and relevant units to deeply understand organizational strategic goals and priorities

    • Fostering relationships with external partners
    • Building relations and expert community in the region

 

  • Local expertise

    • Staying up to date with political, economic, and cultural trends in Argentina

    • Briefing internal teams on various regional developments

    • Providing comprehensive and detailed answers to various questions regarding communication issues in the region

    • Analysing and providing feedback on crafted messages that connect with local audiences while reinforcing overarching organizational messages

 

  • Lessons learned

    • Using data and insights to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of communication and public diplomacy activities

 

 Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Crisis Communication Preparedness:

    • Develop and maintain crisis communication strategies tailored to the region's unique challenges and sensitivities

    • Ensure the organization is well-prepared to effectively address and manage communications during challenging situations

 

  • Leadership and Mentorship:

    • Lead and inspire communication specialists and team members, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high-quality execution

    • Cultivate a collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and innovation

        

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • A master’s degree in Communications, Regional studies, International Relations, or a related field

  • At least three years of experience with communications or strategic communications

  • A proven track record of delivering campaigns

  • A passion for learning about other cultures, history, media landscapes, and communications dynamics

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and shape strategies based on insights

  • Experience working with international donors and funders

  • Experience working with media organisations

  • Understanding of Argentina’s political environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications abilities

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish. Ukrainian language skills are a plus

  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and analytics platforms

 

Additional Information:

  • Travel: Occasional travel to Ukraine or other countries in Europe may be required to foster stakeholder relationships and oversee campaign execution

  • Innovation: Embrace innovative approaches in crafting communication strategies that resonate with diverse audiences

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural awareness and adaptability in communication strategies and messaging, respecting the diversity of the region

 

Working Arrangements:

We are looking to fill the position as soon as possible. Contracts will be issued on a yearly basis, and reviewed as such. The salary on offer for this role will be 2500 USD per month.
