Let's live a life we feel good about.

While “the unexamined life is not worth living” is a stronger stance than I take, I do believe the examined life allows a person to get smarter about how to live it.

So, that’s what I do with my writing—reflect on life, with a dash of positivity.

I hope my reflections prompt your own, and that together we make our way to a life with a little more breathing room, a little more intelligence, a little more grace for ourselves and those we care about.

My Books

Prince Tarkten

Swept away from the castle by a wind fueled by anger and injustice, Prince Tarkten is found by a cruel army captain and renamed Rud. This tender fable follows the prince’s struggle to find his true self, and along the way, true love.

Sweet Baby Lover

Trent was my partner until he died, unexpectedly, at age 46. I loved him immensely and he adored me. After he died, my friends encouraged me to write out my grief. So I did, on a blog, because it was 2009 and I thought it would be cool to have a blog.

The Storywheel

Are you a storyteller? If so, you probably have a shelf or Kindle full of books on story structure. But maybe despite all those books, and despite your heartfelt desire to tell a good story, you struggle to tell a story that works.

Do we have things in common?

To find out, how would you answer these questions?
(My answers are “Yes!”)

  • Are you curious?
  • Have people told you that you’re strong?
  • Have you loved… and have you lost?
  • Do you believe in getting better?

"It's my weekly dose of positivity."

Every Sunday, you can get an email from me to support your own reflections on life. If you sign up, I’ll send you Monkeys and Bones. The story will tell you a lot about me but that’s okay. Writers must be brave.

(I’ll keep your email safe, wrapped in a blanket, locked in a vault.)
