Position: Program Coordinator

Program: Sisters in Control Reproductive Justice

Supervisor: Reproductive Justice Manager

Work Schedule: 40 hrs/week FTE (Monday – Friday);
Some nights & weekends as needed

Travel Required: Yes

Expected Hours: 40 hrs

Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000

The Maternal and Infant Health Program Coordinator is responsible for providing general operating support to the Maternal and Infant Health program at Black Women for Wellness (BWW), a 501(c)(3) organization. This program sits within BWW’s Sisters in Control/ Reproductive Justice division and focuses on improving Black women’s access to maternal health information and services.

Primary Responsibilities:

● Serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries about BWW’s Maternal and Infant programs

● Provide administrative support for meetings and conference calls, including scheduling, drafting/preparing agendas and meeting materials, and note-taking

● Create and maintain effective systems for filing documents and tracking program needs

● Assist in the planning of monthly meetings, quarterly convening, workshops, and other events; lead coordination of venues, catering, and other logistics

● Coordinate travel for team members and external partners; arrange flights, hotels, and other logistics

● Maintain current contact information for a large network of external collaborators, partners, and project stakeholders

● Maintain compliance with all funding requirements; compile and organize documents and reports, provide timely updates to grantors and other team members, communicate project modifications, and assist in other efforts as needed

● Assist with developing program work plans, timelines, and reports for grantors

● Assist with curriculum development and maintenance of program materials

● Coordinate preparation of progress, quarterly, and annual reports and facilitate program evaluation activities.

● Participate in strategic and operational planning by recommending programmatic priorities and opportunities

● Collaborate with BWW’s Communications Manager to ensure program can effectively reach its audiences, and to increase the public visibility of the program

● Support the creation of materials including fact sheets and advocacy and media materials related to maternal and infant health

● Support the research and development of BWW’s Maternal Health policy platform, coordinating this with BWW Policy staff

● Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

● 3+ years of relevant experience in non-profit, government, or other industry; a combination of education and experience may be considered

● Strong written and verbal communication

● Strong organizational skills

● Knowledge of Microsoft office suite

● Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross functional team

● Entrepreneurial, flexible, creative, energetic, hard-working, and unafraid of challenges

● Detail-oriented approach to all work, and capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously

● Commitment to social and reproductive justice

● Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required

● Ability to travel approximately 5-10% of time (3-4 hours per week)

Preferred Qualifications:

● Bachelor advanced degree in public health administration, non-profit management, or related field

● Experience with data management tools and systems

● Sense of humor

● Knowledge of Black communities/working with Black communities a plus

● Knowledge about reproductive health, rights, and justice issues impacting Black women
